Appearance[]

Deadheart is a pale grey she-cat with dark black stripes. Her face, chin, throat, chest, paws, tail-tip and underside are white. Her left ear and eye are missing, and in her eye's place is a long scar. Around her eyes are black patches. Her fur is messy and grimy and she has nicks in her ears. She has long, thick claw marks over her neck and throat and shoulders, and has various small scars over her haunches and hind legs. Her deep green eye is often emotionless.

Personality[]

Deadheart doesn't feel much anymore. She finds it extremely difficult to trust anyone other than her family, and even then she only truly trusts her littermates, Brokenwing and Barkflight.

History[]

As a kit, Mistkit enjoyed playing with her littermates, Barkkit and Thrushkit.

Their aunt and uncle, Sweetstar and Palelight, would often watch Mistkit and Thrushkit playing together with worry in their eyes.

The two she-kits never understood why they looked so concerned.

When they were apprenticed, Thrushpaw and Mistpaw chose the paths of warriors. Barkpaw chose to study as a medicine cat under their uncle Palelight.

On the way to a Gathering, Thrushpaw and Mistpaw were kidnapped by rogues. They were tortured mercilessly.

While they were there, something inside of Mistpaw broke. She didn't know what it was, but it was gone.

They were finally rescued and brought back to the Clans, but their injuries were severe. They spent two moons in the medicine den with their brother and uncle, the former of which did not take it well.

When they were finally able to resume their training, they were broken and battered. Mistpaw had lost an eye and was covered in scars, and Thrushpaw too had lost an eye and had been torn open.

When they finally had their warrior ceremony, Mistheart pretended to be happy.

Really, she didn't feel anything.

During their time held captive by the rogues, Mistheart had learnt how to shut out all her emotions.

The problem was, she couldn't undo it now.

Her brother Barkflight tried his best to help Mistheart and Thrushwing, but Palelight eventually made him stop.

Mistheart was thankful. He had lessened her nightmares, if only marginally.

Even so, she still woke up yowling and shrieking in terror, with Thrushwing the same.

They, with the help of Barkflight, were made to make their own den, as Palelight forbade Barkflight from trying to help their mental injuries and would not have them in the medicine den.

They felt abandoned by their Clan. Even their parents had a new litter and became busy.

Then, one day, they saw Barkflight hurry up to the leader's den to talk. A few moments later, Sweetstar summoned the entire Clan.

Then, to their confusion and despair, she changed their names to Brokenwing and Deadheart.

Deadheart felt only a twinge of surprise. She didn't understand what Barkflight had said to provoke Sweetstar.

Even so, Brokenwing was more upset than Deadheart was.
