A Roleswap AU between Jayfeather and Hollyleaf.

Prologue[]

The she-cats bared the snow, carrying three kits - a gray tabby tom, a black she-kit, and a golden tabby tom.

"Mama," the black kit squeaked, "are we there yet?"

"Almost." one of the she-cats, ginger furred with a bushy tail and green eyes, mewed.

The brown tabby carried the gray tabby tom, who was blind. The two she-cats, who were sisters, left their Clan's camp to gather herbs, before the ginger she-cat's kits came.

The snow blew onto them, almost making it too cold to continue.

"Mama!" the black kit yowled. "Are we there yet?!"

"Almost." the ginger she-cat repeated. "Hold on, Hollykit."

"Okay Squirrelflight." Hollykit squeaked, walking with her mother.

Due to one of Hollykit's brothers being blind, he was being carried by his aunt, where as Hollykit and the golden tom-kit were walking.

"I'm so excited to go to ThunderClan!" the golden tom-kit squealed. "Right Jay?"

Jaykit simply nodded at his brother's words. The brown tabby's eyes sparkled as she whispered one word.

"Home."

"Are we here Leafpool?" the golden kit asked.

"Yes." Leafpool breathed. She ran toward the camp, holding Jaykit tightly in her jaws.

They entered camp, as they were greeted by "Welcome back-!"s and "Where were you-?"s from their Clan.

But Leafpool knew they would be disappointed if they knew the truth.

Chapter 1[]

Jaykit's eyes fluttered open as he awoke from his dream of the cold leaf-bare where he and his siblings came to the Clan to getting prodded by his brother.

"Morning, Jay!" Lionkit exclaimed.

"What is it Lionkit?" Jaykit asked, annoyed. He just wanted to sleep - his brother commonly woke him up, but the sun was barely visible in the leaf-fall sky this time around.

"Don't be such a grumpy furball," Hollykit's mew was teasing as she spoke, "I was just telling Lionkit here that playing with prey is against the warrior code!"

"Well we're kits! It's the warrior code, Holls! And besides, you want to be a medicine cat!" Lionkit's growl seemed affectionate in a way.

"Medicine cats still have to follow the code you mouse-brain!"

"Oh, I'm the mouse-brain?! You've been obsessed with that code since the day you learned it!"

"Well, Li, you've been against it since we learned it!"

"Have not!"

"Have too!"

"Have not!"

"Hollykit, Lionkit!" a voice hissed, one that Jaykit recognized as his mother's.

"Mommy!!" both exclaimed, completely forgetting about their argument.

"Did you bring prey?" Hollykit asked. "Ooh, did you bring any birds?! I love bird!"

"I didn't," the she-cat mewed, "and Brambleclaw told me he could hear you twos' bickering from the other side of camp! So please shush."

"Me and Icekit don't really like how loud you're being..." one of the younger kits mewed sheepishly - Foxkit, a red tom with a black muzzle and paws*. His sister, Icekit, who was a pale gray she-kit*, nodded.

Icekit rarely spoke, quite the opposite to her brother, Foxkit. While the tom-kit seemed to be able to drive away all the prey in the forest with a simple mew, when Icekit spoke it was meek and quiet.

They seemed nothing like siblings, and it reminded Jaykit of his own family - Lionkit appeared tough, but was actually quite meek, like neither of his parents. Hollykit followed the code to a tee - while her parents did the same, she was much more incistent on it. Lastly, Jaykit himself was cold, cocky and hot-headed. While that last one was like his mother, the other two were not.

"Apologize to each other," Squirrelflight demanded. Hollykit and Lionkit murmured awkwardly for a second, before both apologizing, "thank you."

Work in progress.
